After 40 minutes the Blackhawks have increased their lead and now hold a 2-0 advantage over the Bruins.

Patrick Kane tallied his ninth of the post season and second of the game. Captain Jonathan Toews assisted again with Bryan Bickell also helping. Corey Crawford has been fantastic making a couple great saves while stopping all 16 shots he has faced.

All the momentum seems to be in the Blackhawks favor and if they could convert on a powerplay every now and then, this series might already be over.

The big story for the Boston Bruins is the injury to Patrice Bergeron who is clearly hurt. He remained on the bench for most of the period but after maybe hurting his ankle only took one short shift. He saw only 49 seconds of ice time in the second.

The Bruins at times looked like they were losing their composure during the period but seemed to straighten things out towards the end. Boston committed 3 penalties during the period and if not for an embellishment penalty being called on Michael Handzus would have been short-handed three times.

If the Blackhawks can add a third goal early this game might be over but if Boston gets on the board first then it could be anyone's game.

Guaranteed at least 20 more minutes of hockey here in Chicago this season.
