Marian Hossa left Saturday night's game with an upper body injury. Hossa played just 4:18 in the first period and it was reported during the first intermission he would not return. During the second period it was Brandon Saad receiveing most of Hossa's playing time.

He took just six shifts and did not register a shot on goal. Hossa's last shift came with 6:34 left in the period which saw him take a hard hit by Craig Adams.

Hossa has fought through numerous injuries over the years with the Hawks. Most recently it was a back injury last season that caused him to miss Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. He has also missed time due to his shoulder in the past.

No word from the Hawks on how serious the injury is or if it will cause him to miss Tuesday's game. On the season Hossa has 24 goals and 26 assists for 50 points.

UPDATE: Coach Joel Quenneville confirmed after the game that he expects Hossa to be some time. He would not disclose how much time but I wouldn't expect him to be in the lineup Tuesday or Thursday. Q did say he does not expect it to be a long term injury so it is same to assume he won't require surgery and will return before the end of the regular season.
