Adam Burish might not be the most talented of the departed members of the 2010 Stanley Cup winning Blackhawks but he might be the most missed.
Burish is one of those guys you hate but when he is on your team you love him. He likes to talk, alot, will drop the gloves and keeps the locker room loose. Many current Hawks and even Coach Q have said the locker room is a little quieter this year.
Wednesday will mark Adam's return to the United Center since leaving the Hawks in free agency. Burish didn't want to want to leave but left for a chance at more ice time. Also it didn't help that Dallas gave him a million dollars which is more then the Hawks could offer. Could Burish be the difference considering his Stars are a surprising 16-8-2 which is good enough for 34 points and first place in the Pacific division while the Hawks have struggled? Maybe but it will be nice to see Adam return to the UC and expect a very loud ovation, I know I'll be cheering him, when he hits the ice.
In other news it is looking like Jeremy Morin will be filling the role of Jack Skille of going back and forth to Rockford to allow the Hawks to save some cap space on their days off. Don't be mistaken every time he is sent down to Rockford he does have to report to the Icehogs and can not stay in Chicago and practice with the Hawks.
Besides Morin the Hawks also rewarded another kid, Rob Klinkhammer "Colonel Klink, with a call up. Klink, 24, has played in 234 regular season AHL games and will make his NHL debut against the Stars. Hossa was placed on IR to free up the roster spot for Rob.
As I thought it sounds like the lines will be Skille replacing Kane alongside Toews and Stalberg while Morin will stay with Sharp and Kopecky. Coach Q said Colonel Klink was recalled because he is more responsible defensively which will be good since he will probably be on the 4th line with Dowell and John Scott.
On the injury front it sounds like Kaner will be out 3 weeks so maybe we will see him December 30 against the Sharks at the UC or January 2nd in Anaheim against the Ducks. Most likely we will see Hossa and Pisani return sooner but neither are expected to travel with the team to San Jose or Denver. Possible return date is probably a week from now when the Hawks return come to take on the Avs.
