It's finally Boynton.
The Chicago Blackhawks waived defenseman Nick Boynton on Friday and on Saturday he was picked by the Flyers.
Boynton who joined the Hawks late last season and helped them win the Stanley Cup will be joining the team he helped defeat last June. He is the second member of that championship team to join the Flyers.
Winger Kris Versteeg was traded to there a few weeks ago.
Now that Boynton has been waived and picked up by another team in means that general manager Stan Bowman will be making a move to pick up another defenseman.
There is a rumor going around that the Tampa Bay Lightning are looking for Tomas Kopecky in a trade that would give the Hawks dman Brett Clark. If not Clark then it will be someone looked at to step in on the penalty kill to replace Brian Campbell.
The trade deadline is Monday February 28.
