Yes it is now safe for me to buy that number #67 jersey.
On the day their 4th annual Hawks Convention kicks off the club has agreed to a new 3 year deal with the winger who came over from the Panthers in a trade for Jack Skille last season. The contract is for three years and worth around $7 million which is a cap hit of about 2.3 each season which isn't bad.
Frolik can play center or wing and really made an impact last year in the playoffs against Vancouver. He struggled to score during the regular season but finally found his comfort level on the big stage. The nice thing is Michael is only 23 and will be entertaing his 4th year in the NHL and though he might skate on the 3rd line this upcoming season is a top 6 forward for this club.
With this signing and earlier signing of Crawford and Viktor Stalberg the only restricted free agent left is Chris Campoli who has an arbitration hearing in August. However with alot of veterans already being signed and now with the announced signing of Sami Lepisto it is looking less likely that the man who had the big turnover in game 7 will be returning to Chicago next season. It will be very interesting Friday during GM Stan Bowman's Q&A session with the fans.
