The one of the seven goalies that everyone wanted to see this week didn't take the ice on Monday. Finnish goaltender Antti Raanta was held out of the first day of the Blackhawks prospect camp.

Everyone expected Raanta to come out with the afternoon group Monday but he was a no show. It led several people to wonder if the goalie was upset with the Hawks signing of Nikolai Khabibulin to backup Corey Crawford. It is still fresh in everyone's mind how Alexander Salak took to be sent to Rockford two years ago.

It is probably the reason why the Hawks got on top of this so quickly and announced the news. It is unclear if the injury will force Raanta to miss the entire week or just the first day. If he does miss the week it will make it four prospects that aren't on the ice this week.

This year's first round pick, Ryan Hartman, last year's first round pick Teuvo Teravaninen and Drew LeBlanc also aren't on the ice this week. All three have different reasons.

Let's hope that Raanta is able to take the ice this week and that he really is recovering from a minor injury. It was confirmed that he is in town so at the very least we can hope to see him at camp even if he isn't on the ice.

I mean Hartman can't skate but he is there. The last thing the Hawks or anyone want is another situation like Salak and the last thing a new goaltender coach needs is more drama.

Hopefully we will see him on the ice on Tuesday and we can end all that talk.
