Two years ago the Hawks made it to the conference finals. Last season they made it to the finals and walked away the Stanley Cup champions. Now this season they might be on the golf course instead of on the ice Monday.

The Chicago Blackhawks lost on Sunday to the rival Detroit Redwings and now must wait to see if the Wild can prevent the Dallas Stars from clinching the 8th and final playoff spot and ending the defending champs season. For the Hawks to still make the postseason they need the Stars to lose in some way or if they happen to win for it to happen in a shootout. Welcome to the new tiebreaker rules in the NHL. Let's hope former Hawk Marty Havlat feels like helping out his former team.

Sunday's game felt like a playoff game. It felt like a conference final game with the Hawks down 3-2 in the series trying to win a game so they can play another game.

It was clear that some of the Hawks were cracking at the pressure of the game.

I'll have more about this later after we know the outcome of the Stars-Wild game.
