Remember when Michal Rozsival was a healthy scratch so Sheldon Brookbank could play?

Has I know right. I mentioned that to someone in the playoffs and everyone in the bar was laughing about it. After appearing in only 27 games in the regular season, Rozsival appeared in all 23 postseason games for the Stanley Cup champions.

Rozsival totaled 12 assists in the regular season and 4 assists in the postseason. He did show that he can light the lamp during a few shootouts during the season.

After coming to the Hawks on a one year-deal, Rozsival agreed to a two-year deal on Friday and could potentially end his career in Chicago. No financial details have been released yet.

With the return of Rozsival and Nick Leddy the Blackhawks will return their top 7 defensemen. That is as of today, there is always a chance someone like Brookbank could be traded to open a spot for someone like Dylan Olsen or Ryan Staunton.

Coach Joel Quenneville leaned heavily on Rozsival during the Stanley Cup Finals. Basically benching Leddy and playing him Duncan Keith type minutes.

With bringing back Bryan Bickell, Nick Leddy, Michal Handzus and Rozsival and expected to bring back Marcus Kruger it essentially will keep the Hawks off the free agent market. The only player they don't have a homegrown player to replace is Ray Emery so they might be in the market for a backup goalie.

After saying goodbye to Dave Bolland, Michael Frolik and Emery and Stalberg today it insures the Hawks are bringing back nearly their entire championship team. That is a big change from 3 years ago when they were unable to return half the roster.

A dynasty in the making? This is why we have heard more of the talk now. Should be a fun season, only 2 & 1/2 months till training camp.
